Standards & Practices<\/h2>\n

The CLT S&P has 12 standards and 91 practices. The Centre for Land Conservation (CLC), which was established in 2019 stewards the CLT S&P. The website features a user-friendly Self-Assessment Tool to help organizations review and track their progress over time. This secure tool will assist land trusts in prioritizing areas for development, ensuring essential documentation is complete, and facilitating effective group work. Assessing Your Organization (AYO) Tool<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Alliance of Canadian Land Trusts thanks the Ontario Land Trusts Alliance (OLTA) for permission to share their Assessing Your Organization Program (AYO) with ACLT-ACOC members. The six-part program is available here in English and French.<\/p>\n

OLTA\u2019s Assessing Your Organization Program (AYO) is intended to help strengthen land trusts through a systematic review and discussion of their governance and operating practices in light of the 2019 Canadian Land Trust Standards and Practices (CLT S&Ps).<\/p>\n

The AYO was designed for land trusts and other groups that wish to undertake an analysis of their progress toward implementing the CLT S&Ps. The AYO process helps land trust boards meet legal requirements and regulations, recruit and train excellent board members, set priorities for organizational development, as well as secure land efficiently and effectively for conservation and protection.<\/p>\n
